  • Handicaps

The maximum Playing Handicaps will be 24 for men and 30 for ladies.

All competitors must have a current WHS Handicap Index.

We accept entries from iGolf members and they can win prizes but will only be eligible for Order of Merit points and GAGT membership after completing four rounds on the GAGT schedule.

  • WHS Qualifying

Swinley Forest is a very private and traditional club and they only have about three members competitions each year. For this reason they have no interest in adopting the WHS or obtaining a Slope Rating and Course Rating for the course. It is therefore not possible for us to run the two rounds as WHS qualifiers which is why you will not receive an adjustment to your handicap.

In the past we have been able to use Fernhill Artisans course details for running the events as a WHS qualifier but Swinley closed down the artisan section at the beginning of 2024 so the Fernhill Artisan course details are no longer applicable.

  • Dress Code

On the course, traditional golfing attire is required.

In the clubhouse, visitors are encouraged to dress smartly with jackets required for gentlemen in the upstairs dining room at lunchtime.

  • Prizes

There will be prizes for first, second and third place for each round plus an overall 36 hole prize.  Each round will be a separate competition and both will count towards the Order of Merit. There will also be two Nearest the Pin Competitions for both rounds.

  • GAGT Order of Merit

Merit points will be awarded on the basis of 100pts to the winner, 99pts for runner up, 98pts for third and so on.  To be eligible for merit points you need to be a current member of the GAG Tour for an annual subscription of £40.  You can join online at golftour.golf or call Kelly/Debbie on 0345 466 2222.

  • Sweep

There will be an optional sweep of £20 (£10 per round) to include a 2's sweep and a competition sweep.

  • Trolleys / Buggies

Experienced caddies, buggies (subject to conditions) and electric trolleys are available (subject to availability) with advance booking. To speak to one of the team at Swinley Forest please call 01344 295282 or email professional@swinleyfgc.co.uk
